One to five
One mukhi — associated with Shiva himself; extremely rare and very often faked. Two mukhi — harmony between partners. Three mukhi — release of past guilt and stagnation.
Four mukhi — clarity of speech and study, linked to Brahma. Five mukhi — the universal bead, linked to Kalagni Rudra, recommended for everyone and safe without astrological clearance.
Six to ten
Six mukhi — expression and confidence, linked to Kartikeya. Seven mukhi — associated with Lakshmi and steady finances. Eight mukhi — Ganesha, removal of obstacles.
Nine mukhi — Durga, courage in difficulty. Ten mukhi — Vishnu, a general protective bead with no ruling planet.
Eleven to fourteen
Eleven mukhi — Hanuman, discipline and self control. Twelve mukhi — Surya, vitality and leadership. Thirteen mukhi — Kamadeva, charm and fulfilment of wishes.
Fourteen mukhi — Hanuman and Shani, considered the most powerful of the commonly discussed counts and the most frequently counterfeited.
A word of caution
Higher is not better. A genuine five mukhi serves you far more than a doubtful fourteen mukhi. Always ask for lab certification before paying a premium for a rare count.
